Run, roll, walk or stroll in the ErinoakKids 5K!

February 24, 2014
With spring just a few weeks away, thoughts are turning to warmer weather and the ErinoakKids 5K! The family-friendly EOK 5K takes place on April 27 at Lakeside Park in Mississauga on a wheelchair accessible course. The EOK 5K is presented by title and centre stage sponsor Manulife Bank.

“Our 5K event provides an opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the outdoors,” said Bridget Fewtrell, President and CEO of ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development. “The course is fully paved, so whether you want to run, roll, walk or stroll, there are no barriers to participation.”

Participants are asked to collect pledges in support of the ErinoakKids $20-million In My Dreams campaign. The campaign is raising funds to support the ErinoakKids redevelopment project, which will enable ErinoakKids to consolidate its current patchwork of leased and retrofitted space into three new facilities built specifically for the care of children with disabilities and special needs. The new facilities, located in Mississauga, Oakville and Brampton, are scheduled to open in early 2017. In addition, the campaign will support programs and services at ErinoakKids that do not receive government funding.

The EOK 5K will also feature a kid’s zone, prizes, a light lunch and refreshments.
