Young Artist Contest

March 13, 2011
What is Baxter’s Young Artist Contest?

When Baxter celebrated its 70th anniversary, the company launched its Young Artist Contest Imagine My Future to encourage young patients to visualize their dreams and inspire hope for their own tomorrow. The winning artwork becomes the cover of Baxter’s holiday card which is shared with hospital customers, home patients and many other contacts across the country. Last year, Baxter partnered with all Peel hospitals to run the young artist contest. For 2011, Baxter is partnering with ErinoakKids.

Contest Timeline:

  • Young Artist Contest at ErinoakKids – October 25 – November 25
  • Selection of winning artwork – December 1
  • Presentation to young artist at ErinoakKids – mid-December

Guidelines for Eligibility and Consent

Baxter’s Young Artist Contest would be open to all children visiting ErinoakKids in Peel Region, up to and including the age of 13. The first name and the age of the winning entrant would appear on Baxter’s holiday card. Therefore, parental consent is required (via signature on a release form).

To protect privacy, limited information should be submitted with the artwork, and should be sufficient enough only to distinguish entrants. Therefore, on the back of each artwork submitted, please ensure the following information is provided:

  • Child’s first name, and last initial
  • Child’s age
  • Date

Information on how to participate in this contest is available through your ErinoakKids clinician.

Contest Announcement

Baxter will recognize the young artist at ErinoakKids during a presentation ceremony in mid-December. Baxter will present the artist and family with:

  • A plaque version of the artwork
  • A young artist kit (age appropriate art supplies)
  • A box of cards featuring the artwork for use by the family

Baxter will also present ErinoakKids with a plaque version of the winning art.

Did you know?

Did you know that by introducing your child to early life skills from ages five to seven (such as helping to make your child’s bed, tidy his or her room, unpack and pack his or her school backpack, and set the table and clear dishes at the end of a meal) is preparing him or her for the responsibility of expanded home and community-based life skills as a young adult?
