Sean & Lynne Seawright Scholarship Award

The 2016 application period is now closed.

Details for next year's application will be shared early in 2017.

Sean and Lynne Seawright have generously established an educational award available to students pursuing post-secondary education who are current clients or graduates of ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development.

The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students with a disability to develop independence and personal advocacy by pursuing higher education at the post-secondary level (college, university, training school, or other centres offering post-secondary education).

One (1) award of $5,000.00 will be presented each year to a qualified candidate.

Candidates are asked to complete the application form and submit the following:
  • Academic transcripts from the last 2 years
  • Two letters of reference from different sources (referring to education and character)
  • Proof of acceptance by Educational Institute

Important details:
  • Qualified candidates are short-listed based on educational goals and needs by a committee of ErinoakKids staff, including leadership representation. Applications of the short-listed candidates will be presented to Sean and Lynne Seawright for final selection.
  • Please note that the successful candidate should be available to attend ErinoakKids’ Pride & Joy event on the evening of October 28, 2016 at the Mississauga Convention Centre to accept the award. An initial amount of $2,500 will be presented to the award recipient at this event.
  • The balance amount of $2,500 will be provided to the award recipient on successful achievement in either his / her first year or completion of (if less than one year) his / her post-secondary program. The award recipient will provide academic transcripts demonstrating completion of the program to Gillian Gallus (contact details below) no later than June 15, 2017. The final amount will be mailed to the award recipient by June 30, 2017.
  • Please submit the application form and all supporting documents at the same time.
  • Incomplete applications and those received after June 15, 2016 will be disqualified.
