COVID-19 Related Updates and Resources

Safeguarding the health and safety of the families we serve, and our staff, is our most important priority.  

  • ErinoakKids is mask friendly and level 3 masks are available for visitors at our infection control kiosks. Masks are recommended, but not required.   
  • Intensive cleaning measures are in place throughout our sites and handwashing, or using hand sanitizer, is encouraged frequently.

Mask Friendly Environment

As the risk of COVID-19 infection continues to decline, ErinoakKids has transitioned to a 'mask-friendly' policy. Families/caregivers and visitors are no longer required to wear masks when on site. Level 3 masks are still available at the infection control kiosks at all entrances. Staff will continue to wear masks when client facing, including in treatment rooms and indoor clinical shared spaces (such as the gym.)

Updated Protocol

Families, clients and visitors are no longer required to complete an online COVID-19 screening before visiting ErinoakKids sites. If you have symptoms of COVID 19, or feel unwell the day of your appointment, please contact our scheduling department for assistance.  

A level three ErinoakKids mask is still required to enter our sites, please continue to follow all other safety protocols, including frequent hand sanitization as we continue to monitor and assess the risk related to COVID-19.

Masks Still Required

For the protection of the vulnerable children and youth we serve, their families and our staff, masks are still required when visiting ErinoakKids sites. Please review the COVID-19 requirements above before your visit. We appreciate your co-operation and understanding.

Vaccination Policy 

In response to declining COVID 19 rates in the community, ErinoakKids has lifted the mandatory vaccination policy for visitors to our site. The mandatory vaccination policy remains in effect for staff and volunteers and we will continue to take precautions to protect our clients and their families. Please continue to follow all remaining safety protocols, including completing a screening assessment before your visit and wearing a mask provided by ErinoakKids while on site.

Special Services at Home (SSAH) Update

Temporary Changes to SSAH, Enhanced Respite and Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities (ACSD) Programs

The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) has announced that expenditures deemed admissible for the SSAH, Enhanced Respite and Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities programs are being temporarily expanded to accommodate activities, services and supports that can be purchased by program recipients and their families while at home. This is being done to better support the health and well-being of program recipients and their families while physically distancing. These temporary changes are effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice by the MCCSS. For full details on these changes, please visit MCCSS’ website.
