Sean & Lynne Seawright Scholarship Award

Applications are due June 15, 2017


Sean and Lynne Seawright have established a generous educational award available to students pursuing post-secondary education who are current clients or graduates of ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development.
 
The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students with a disability to develop independence and personal advocacy by pursuing higher education at the post-secondary level (college, university, training school, or other centres offering post-secondary education).
 
One (1) award of $5,000.00 will be presented each year to a qualified candidate.
 
Candidates are asked to complete the application form and submit the following:
  • Academic transcripts from the last 2 years
  • Two letters of reference from different sources referring to education and character (Sources external to ErinoakKids are preferred.)
  • Proof of acceptance by Educational Institute
  • A letter  (1000 words) on your post-secondary education plan
 
Important details:
Qualified candidates are short-listed based on educational goals and needs by a committee of ErinoakKids staff, including leadership representation. Applications of the short-listed candidates will be presented to Sean and Lynne Seawright for final selection.
 
Please note that the successful candidate should be available to attend the presentation event tentatively scheduled for November 2017 to accept the award.
The balance amount of $2,500 will be provided to the award recipient on successful achievement in either his / her first year or completion of (if less than one year) his / her post-secondary program. The award recipient will provide academic transcripts demonstrating completion of the program to Gillian Gallus (contact details below) no later than June 15, 2017. The final amount will be mailed to the award recipient by June 29, 2018.
Please submit the application form and all supporting documents at the same time.
Incomplete applications and those received after June 15, 2017 will be disqualified.
