Child Care Support Services - Halton

Erinoakkids’ Child Care Support Services Halton (CCSS-H) team is comprised of Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists who consult to child care centres in the Region of Halton.

Our role is to support educators’ understanding and use of strategies to enhance children’s participation in play, interactions, daily activities, and routines.

The team works collaboratively with child care centre staff, Resource Consultants and a variety of community partners to meet the inclusion needs of all children.

Speech/Language and Occupational Therapy Supports

Service options for Speech and Language and Occupational Therapy include:

Centre- or classroom-wide coaching on the use of strategies to support/increase play, communication, use of visuals, feeding, fine and gross motor skills, daily living skills, sensory and self-regulation.
Workshops and lunch and learns focusing on early development of skills and universal strategies to support all learners in the classroom.
Client-specific consultation (for speech only) to identify strategies to help the child communicate and participate more effectively in the child care environment.

Referral Process

Speech and Language

Child care centres that are interested in speech and language support can access the service by:

Connecting with the Resource Consultant at your centre
Current ErinoakKids clients can be referred by the child’s Speech Language Pathologist

Occupational Therapy

Referrals for Occupational Therapy support can be made through the Resource Consultant at your centre.
