Ezra's Story

Before Ezra was born, he was diagnosed with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. He began his journey at ErinoakKids when he was just seven months old. “We didn’t really have a lot of answers at the time. ErinoakKids was there not only to give us those answers, but tools and other connections that helped Ezra thrive,” says Andrew, Ezra's Dad. “We would be lost without ErinoakKids.”

Katie and Liam are twins and are on the autism spectrum, have high sensory needs and experience social/emotional challenges. Having play-dates with kids was challenging and their parents were left wondering if they will ever get to experience the kind of play and freedom every child deserves. But when their mom discovered the Regional Respite Centre at ErinoakKids, all of that changed.

Mikayla's Story

“We actually attribute part of the reason Mikayla can walk to the success we’ve seen at the ErinoakKids Botox clinic,” says Amanda, Mikayla’s mom... “We don’t feel like a number going into the clinic. They know your child and they remember things about her that only a family member would. They joke with her and do things to make her smile and feel special."

“This is such an incredible program,” says Gavin’s dad. “There was a point where I saw him riding the bike all by himself. I had tears in my eyes. I had to call my wife right away and let her know how well he was doing.”
