Privacy at ErinoakKids

Privacy, confidentiality, and trust are at the cornerstone of ErinoakKids’ relationship with our clients. Health data and personal data are highly sensitive, our clients trust that we will keep their information private and confidential. We are committed to responsible data management practices. 

ErinoakKids operates as a Health Information Custodian (HIC) under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and is therefore authorized to collect personal health information in accordance with PHIPA. In addition, the collection of personal health information ensures we can provide the appropriate health, therapy and support services.

Personal Information is any information that would help identify you as an individual person.

Personal health information is information in any form that identifies you and that relates to your health and health care.

ErinoakKids will collect, retain, use, and disclose personal information and personal health information (hereafter referred to as “protected data”) only to the extent necessary to provide services.   

In order to ensure that we meet our privacy obligations to our clients, and our obligations under the law, ErinoakKids has a privacy framework in place, which includes a Privacy Policy and Web and Social Media Privacy Policy. These policies govern how we collect, retain, use, and disclose protected data.
