ErinoakKids and Infant and Child Development Services

Referral Guide

ErinoakKids and Infant & Child Development Services (ICDS) work collaboratively to support children and families across Dufferin, Halton and Peel. 

Our shared goal is to ensure children under the age of 4 years receive the right services at the right time. Services between ErinoakKids and ICDS are coordinated to ensure efficient and seamless care for families. 

Please review the chart below to support your referral. 

When to Refer to ErinoakKids
When to Refer to ICDS

Known or suspected complex physical, neurological, or medical conditions (from infancy):

  • Cerebral palsy, brain injury, skeletal disorders, neuromuscular disorders, spina bifida, medically fragile children, obstetric brachial plexus palsy 
     
  • Significant delay in gross motor skills requiring equipment needs 
     
  • Asymmetrical movements (using one side of the body more than another)  

Developmental delay or risk of delay (birth to under 4 years):

  • Down syndrome
  • global delay
  • hypotonia
  • prematurity
  • low birth weight
  • congenital or genetic conditions
